Even though the numbers of invitees were the same, there was a drop of one point in the CRS score that is necessary to receive the invitation to apply. All candidates needed a minimum score of 471 points.

Moreover, Canada uses the system of Express Entry and invites top skilled overseas workers. This immigration system handles the candidates’ pool for economic immigration like the

  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Canadian Experience Class

When the candidates qualify for immigration in the Express Entry they get a distinct score based on factors of education, age, work experience and finally the language proficiency. Additionally, there is no condition for candidates to have job offers from local employers, but when they hold a valid offer there is an increase in the score of CRS.

Also Canada holds Express Entry draws at regular intervals mostly twice in one month. Each round has a specific set of candidates who receive the ITA and their numbers are defined by the size of a draw.

If candidates do not receive an invitation owing to a low CRS score, they can apply for a Provincial Nomination Program. The programs are administered by Canadian provinces and require unique parameters. A feature is that the provincial streams invite candidates with a low CRS that is close to 300.

A nomination by the provinces helps to add 600 score in the profile which is an effective guarantee to obtain the invitation in an ensuing draw.
