British Columbia Business Draw
British Columbia’s conducted a draw in the business immigration category and issued 23 invitations in two Entrepreneur streams on November 12. Additionally, in it, 18 invitations were issued in Entrepreneur Immigration (General Category) and the remaining five in Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot of the Provincial Program. In the general category, the necessary score was 112, and in the regional pilot, it was 121.

Also in the previous Entrepreneur Immigration draw held on October 29 invitations were issued to aspiring 24 candidates. The draw invited candidates through Entrepreneur Immigration General Category and also in the Regional Pilot. In the general category, the minimum score requirement was 114 points for 19 candidates and in the regional pilot, 5 candidates were invited at a score of 110 points only

Entrepreneur Category Requirements

Business candidates of this category had to meet these criteria:

  • The minimum personal net worth of $800,000;
  • The personal investment of $400 000 for establishing purchasing and expanding an eligible business in the province
  • Creating at least three jobs in favor of permanent residents and citizens of Canada;
  • Interest and Participation in the daily direction of the business;
  • Signing the performance agreement with the province
  • Before nomination;
  • Finally, the Candidates belonging to the Entrepreneur category can also sponsor a staff member to avail the permanent residence.
  • Requirements for Entrepreneur Immigration - Regional Pilots

Requirements for the Communities

  • A Population not exceeding 75,000
  • Location that is beyond 30km from a municipal area above 75,000 population
  • The capacity to support overseas entrepreneurs and having a proper settlement network and agencies giving business support
  • Immigration training and pilot training should be completed by its representatives.

Requirements for the Candidates

The intention of starting a business and also settling in the regional communities

  • Having an exploratory visit
  • Investments worth $100,000 in an eligible business
  • A personal net worth worthy of $300,000
  • Having 51 percent ownership
  • Creating a minimum of one new job
