British Columbia Draw Issues Invitations To 63 Tech Pilot Candidates
On December 3rd, British Columbia conducted a draw in its PNP Tech Pilot and issued 63 invitations to candidates who had the experience and skills in 29 target occupations.

The draw OF BC Provincial Nominee Program had a minimum score of 90 necessary in all four streams with the aim of attracting international graduates and skilled workers.  The streams included SI Skilled Workers and International Graduates as well as EEBC Skilled Workers and International Graduates

In its earlier BC Draw, 348 invitations were issued to international graduates and skilled workers. 

The feature of November 26 draw was that invitations were issued in five streams.

  • Points to qualify, for skilled workers, in the direct provincial streams were 94,
  • Points to qualify skilled workers in the provincial stream linked to Express Entry were 100,
  • Points to qualify skilled workers in the direct provincial stream for international graduates were 101 points,
  • Points to qualify skilled workers in the provincial stream linked to Express Entry were 103
  • And finally for the Entry-level as well as semi-skilled workers necessary points were 77

This Pilot has an extension to 2020 after it was launched in 2017 and has 29 targeted occupations and also had relaxed requirements duration.

BC PNP specifically aims to attract technology workers since May 2017 owing to a dominant presence of the technology industry in the province.

  • Job offer needs to be made in 29 target occupations
  • It must be of one-year duration,
  • It has to be valid for 120 days at application time

After obtaining the provincial nomination there is an effective guarantee of selection in the Express Entry System, owing to the addition of 600 CRS points.

The BC PNP publicizes the scores for immigrants to get the immigration invitation under its programs.

The score requirement for international graduates is 30 points lower in comparison to the skilled workers in Express Entry and also in the provincial streams and comparatively lower for semi-skilled and entry-level workers
