Canada Has A Boost Of 98,410 In Population Growth Owing To Immigration

In the first quarter of 2019 98,410 people moved to Canada, and the figures regarding the population on April 1 touched 37.4 million.

The fresh Statistical data

As per the fresh data from Statistics Canada immigration was the powerful force in the population increase of Canada between January and March 2019.

The growth in Natural population showing the variance between the number of births and deaths was low in the quarter, with only 17,000 additions.

The reason for population growth was Immigration at 83 percent share in the first quarter in Canada, and 17 per cent owing to the natural increase.

The trend of the reduction in the natural increase

The trend of the reduction in share of the natural increase will continue, as per the report. In this background, the growth in population in Canada will rely more and more on international migration alone. Another notable fact is that the seasonal factors connected with births/deaths, are naturally lower during the first quarter. Canada never had so many deaths in a single quarter. Compounding it is that, generally there are fewer births in the first quarter of the year.

The contribution of immigration is huge in the population growth, but Canada received 65,959 permanent immigrants that is its lowest number for the initial quarter since 2015. Statistics also reveal that the increase of 31,547 non-permanent residents in the initial quarter was an important factor in population growth.

In the first quarter there was population growth in all provinces, except in Newfoundland & Labrador.

The provinces

Alberta and Ontario had a growth of 0.4 percent. The average in national growth was 0.3 percent, and Canadian population reached 37,067,011. We bring all the facts and reports regarding all such trending topics and our patrons can contact us.
