Canadian Caregiver Program Adds Two New 5 Year Pilots
The previous visa for Live-in Caregivers was closed recently to applicants residing outside Canada. It has made way for the introduction of two new programs for caregivers. This is opening up additional opportunities for the caregivers.

The two new five year pilots to be introduced are Home Child Caregiver Provider Pilot, Home Support Worker Pilot

These programs allow a person to reach Canada temporarily joined by their families.

Also it is not necessary to live in the home of an employer, which offers freedom to live at any place of choice.

An attribute here is the requirement to have one year of work experience for qualifying contrasting to two years of experience for qualifying in the Live-in Caregiver program.

Furthermore, working as caregivers, they can earn $43,875 in the country when they qualify for PR. Moreover, the beloved ones can enjoy the free healthcare and education till grade 12.

Qualifying Norms For The New Caregiver Pilots

There are different requirements for these Caregiver pilots concerning having the job offer, and the qualifying work experience that will determine the terms of applying for permanent residence and also working temporarily.  Having work experience 24 months in the country makes a candidate eligible for applying to get the permanent residence.

The new Caregiver pilots are:

  • The Home Child Care Provider Pilot; and
  • The Home Support Worker Pilot

The Home Child Care Provider Pilot As Per The NOC 4411

The provider of home childcare is accountable for taking care of children below 18 years in their personal home or at the home of an employer. Additionally, there is no requirement to live in the home of an employer

The Home Support Worker As Per The NOC 4412

The home support worker takes care for somebody needing help from them at their home or at the home of a caregiver. Additionally, there is no requirement to live in the home of an employer

General Requirements For Caregiver Pilots

  • A travel document/ passport that is Valid
  • A full-time job offer that is Valid
  • Ability to do the job, past experience/training
  • Meeting the requirements of language - CLB5 at the Minimum
  • One year Canadian qualification post-secondary or Educational Credential Assessment when it is obtained outside the country
  • Biometrics and finally
  • The Eligibility for applying to get the work permit
