Express Entry Report 2018 - A Highlight on Top Express Entry Jobs

IRCC recently released its year-end report for 2018 in the Express Entry. There is a highlight on the top jobs of the successful applicants

Needing a job first is a big concern of the people who apply for immigration to Canada. There is a confirmation in this report that one does not need a job offer for success through Express Entry. 10% of the persons who received the ITA to get the permanent residence in the Express Entry draws during the last year had a Canadian job offer.

Domination of Tech jobs

After the creation of an Express Entry profile candidates need to declare their work experience by using the NOC. This system gives a four digit code to the jobs present in the Canadian economy, depending on the duties and responsibilities of the jobs. Information Technology, as well as business and financial services, were the common occupations, in which the Express Entry candidates, receiving the ITA in 2018, showed an interest.

Job offer is not a compulsory requirement for success in Express Entry

A job offer of the Canadian employer does not form a basis for applying to the Express Entry. There are only extra CRS points in case you have it. Such candidates who secure the maximum points get the ITA, and so most of the candidates stress on securing an offer when they are in the pool. Additionally, for a regular job offer, you obtain 50 extra CRS points. Moreover, when the job is for the managerial positions, you obtain 200 extra points. Moreover, such Candidates belonging to the Express Entry pool can access the Canada Job Bank, through which the eligible employers in Canada can find skilled overseas nationals and also offer them a post. This makes the matching of capable EE candidates with employers easier.

 However, 9,308 candidates receiving the ITA last had had a job offer, among the 89,800 candidates. This shows that it is not a success requirement.
