Express Entry: Indian Citizens Received 46 Percent Of All ITAs In 2018

In July, 2019 IRCC has released the Express Entry Year-End Report for 2018. As per The figures citizens of India have received a share of 46 percent among all Invitations to Apply issued in Express Entry last year. The share of the Chinese and Nigerian citizens was next to it.

Moreover, the report, says that 89,800 Invitations to Apply were issued, and 41,675 among those were of Indian citizens. China received 6,248 ITAs citizens of Nigeria received 6,025. In 2017 also citizens of India, China and Nigeria were at the top to receive ITAs through Express Entry. Indian citizens had received 42 percent ITAs in 2017, but 46 percent in 2018, showing an increase and success.

The focus of Many Indian citizens because of their rich experience is in the specific technology and IT occupations.  These are the most familiar and dominating occupations receiving the invitations during 2018.

After receiving the Invitation to Apply in the Express Entry format the candidates can submit the official application to seek the permanent resident status in Canada.

The final analysis

Also, there is a difference between citizenship and residence. A person can hold the citizenship of one country but reside in a different country. Here 46% Indian citizens had the ITAs but only 17% ITAs were issued to them. Indians apply while residing in Canada, or when they are employed in the United States, through the temporary H-1B work visa. Some of them belong to other countries also.
