Israel, a country in the Middle East found high growth in tourists count from India and targeted one lakh tourists by next year, 2018.
According to Hassan Madah (Israel Ministry of Tourism India Director), Israel has got 34,000 tourists from India in this year till last month (July). In the press meet, he said that they are expecting 55,000 tourists in coming 5 months. Speaking to PTI, Hassan clearly said that they made visa process easier and also promoting tourism in India.
Direct Flights from Delhi
In addition, they are also providing numerous flights from middle east to and from India. He said that they run 3 to 4 direct flights from one of the densely populated city Mumbai to Tel Aviv. They are also plans to start direct flights from Delhi. If this service commences, the tourists count to Israel expected to reach 90,000 nearly.
Once after Air India launches direct flights in this route, the other global airlines will start running their fleets. As Indians are also showing interest to visit Israel, the Govt here is also planning many promotional activities for tourism.
Hassan added that they have been interacting with many tourists here and treating them with best services. And after the direct flights from Delhi commences, we can expect one lakh visitors from India by next year end.
Reports also said that the Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) set to spend 5 to 6 million USD nearly this year in India tourism promotions. They set to target pilgrimage, conferences, events, meetings, weddings, receptions, etc. Hassan also said that they have special interest for youth including adventures and honeymoon facilities. Recently, they have appointed Blue Square Consultants as new PR partner.
“We are targetting young people living in metro cities first. Later, we will start promotions in tier II and III cities”, Hassan said. He also said that India is teh source market for them in Asian countries. And US, Europe, Russia stood in the top of global market for Israeli tourism. Madah concluded that they are expecting more tourists from India among the Asian countries.
