Minimum Scores are Low in recent B.C. Draw

British Columbia has kept the minimum score norm low, in the recent draw, for skilled workers in its P.N.P. In The August 22 draw 323 candidates were invited to apply. Skilled workers in the direct provincial stream need 82 points for qualifying and the EE skilled workers need only 87 points. Overseas graduates in both these categories need 91 points. Finally, the semi-skilled and entry level applicants need 65 points.

In The Aug-15, draw 44 aspirants received the invitation in the targeted technology occupations. The candidates enjoy a preference in the queue of provincial immigration through this Pilot. The law on the draw says that skilled workers, who apply in the direct stream, need 82 points to get the qualification. Skilled workers applying through Express Entry needed 87 points. International students required 91 points to qualify.

This Pilot was extended to 2019 after its launch in May 2017. Presently it has a list of 29 target occupations where the duration requirements are relaxed. The provincial nomination guarantees selection in the EE System, and is worth 600 CRS points. The score requirement for an international graduate is 30 points lower than a skilled worker in the EE and provincial stream. The score is lower for entry-level and semi-skilled workers.
