Ontario Tech Draw Issues 954 Notifications In The First Draw Of 2020

Ontario immigration conducted the first Tech Draw for the year which was also the first after August 1, 2019, and issued 954 Notifications of Interest to candidates in the Express Entry category on January 15th.

The score of the Comprehensive Ranking System was in the range between 460 and 427, and the candidates had to submit an Express Entry profile between Jan 15th, 2019 and Jan 15th, 2020.

The Tech Draws are grouped in the Human Capital Priorities stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, and also have a focus on specific technology occupations as per the list below

Chronologically it was the third Tech Draw after Ontario started this initiative in July 2019.

These draws address labor shortages in the technology sector in the province.

Candidates should meet HCP requirements and also have work experience in an occupation as above.

The selected candidates from the pool get a Notification of Interest through the IRCC account. They get 45 days for submitting the full application.

Additionally, there is a focus on technological occupations and Ontario launched a fresh Business Services team.

Apart from this, there is a dedicated staff for helping the employers to fill up vital tech worker vacancies. Also the Employers are in a position to get modern information about processing times of applications and for the nominations issued.

The Requirements in Ontario Express Entry: HCP Stream

The applicants must have:

  • A current profile in the Federal Express Entry and must be duly qualified for FSWP/CEC.
  • Holding one year of full time, or equivalent work experience in NOC occupation level 0, B, or A, during the last five years for FSWP or in the last three years for CEC.
  • Holding the Canadian Bachelor's degree or equivalent Showing language proficiency of CLB in English /NCLC level 7  in French
  • A plan to live in Ontario
  • Residing with legal status in Canada,
  • Proof of necessary settlement funds
