PEI Immigration Plans To Hold A Draw On October 17
PEI Immigration will hold a New Draw on October 17 in its Expression of Interest system. The aim is to attract candidates in entrepreneur and skilled worker categories in the Provincial Nominee Program of Prince Edward Island.  It also related to Express Entry, Labor Impact, and Business Impact categories.

PEI immigration started the system of EOI in 2018, and conducts monthly draws. The schedule of dates for this year is October 17th, followed by November 21st and December 19th.  Additionally, it has held nine draws so far, inviting 1,187 candidates. The break up is 1,031 in Express Entry/ Labor Impact streams as well as 156 in its Business Impact stream.

In 2018 giving a boost to Canada immigration PEI had issued 1,446 invitations. The break up is 1,240 in favor of Express Entry and Labor Impact candidates, and 206 for the Business Impact category. Additionally, its largest draw was held on Oct 18th, 2018, in which 297 candidates received the invitations.

PEI Express Entry

This category in Canada immigration works when it considers candidates already present in federal Pool, for PEI nomination. Moreover, this nomination also gives 600 extra points in CRS score. It guarantees the ITA for immigration in Canada.

The two pathways in PEI Express Entry favoring the Canada immigration are firstly the one that attracts candidates that have a job offer, and the second is for candidates that do not have a job offer.

 PEI Labor Category

  • Stream for Skilled Workers

This stream focuses on employers and allows workers that have skills, with the offer of employment in PEI to get PR nomination when they meet these criteria:

  • An employment offer (full-time) from business in PEI in a job classified as skill 0 or A as well as B level in the NOC;
  • Passing the education at post-secondary level, and 14 years of education;
  • Age has to be 21-55 years;
  • Two years full-time experience of work during the last 5 years;
  • Adequate ability in English/French for performing the job;
  • Sufficient amount settlement funds;
  • The desire  for settling in PEI

Stream for Critical Workers

The category in Canada immigration resolves labor shortages. It seeks overseas workers in PEI having employment in specified demand occupations. The nomination criteria are:

  • A job offer of (full-time) from a local business as Truck drivers; representatives in Customer service; Laborer; Food & beverage servers; and Housekeeping attendants
  • Work experience of 6 months with PEI business that offers employment;
  • A valid work permit in Canada;
  • Passing the High school diploma, plus 12 years of education;
  • Age must be 21-55 years;
  • Two years full-time experience of work during the last 5 years;
  • Workable proficiency in French/ English for performing the job;
  • Enough settlement funds;
  • The desire for settling in PEI

PEI Business Category

  • Stream involving the Work Permit

All Individuals that apply in this provincial Stream need to obtain the work permit in Canada and do some work in the local business running to a designated time as per the Performance Agreement.

After fulfillment of the requisite norms of Performance Agreement, the applicants need an investment of $150,000 in a business, and also do it on a daily basis in P.E.I.

Finally in the past, the Island had direct PR business streams, though it was closed in Sep- 2018.
