PEI Province Conducts a Draw and Invites 143 Top-Performing Candidates

On August 15th Prince Edward Island immigration, has invited 143 candidates in Express Entry, Labor Impact as well as Business Impact categories, in its Provincial Nominee Program, in the recent Expression of Interest draw. 143 invitations were issued, of which 133 were for candidates in the Express Entry and Labor Impact categories, and 10 for candidates, belonging to the Business Impact category.

PEI PNP Express Entry

The PNP of PEI has an Express Entry category that is aligned to the federal system. Thus the Prince Edward Island selects candidates in the

  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • Federal Skilled Worker Class,
  • Canadian Experience Class

from the federal pool, and nominates the top ranking in them, to seek Canadian permanent residence. The nominated candidates of the PEI PNP get 600 extra points in the CRS score serving as a guarantee to get the ITA for Canadian permanent residence in an ensuing draw of Express Entry.

PEI PNP Labor Impact category

Overseas workers having a valid PEI job offer from an employer can submit the application to seek provincial nomination in the Labor Impact category. There are three streams for the candidates in the Labor Impact category

  • Skilled Workers,
  • Critical Workers
  • International Graduates

The category of Labor Impact does not have an alignment with the Express Entry.

Ten candidates of Business Impact category having score of 112 received invitations in the Work Permit Stream.

PEI PNP Expression of Interest

All candidates who aspire of receiving the provincial nomination from PEI first have to submit the EOI. On submitting the EOI candidates get a score depending on eligibility factors and the candidates with the top score get the invitation to apply and seek PEI provincial nomination.

While comparing the figures of the previous draw of July 18th, the present draw issued 15 additional invitations. The cut-off score remained similar to the draw of June 20.
