Skilled Workers Invited To Apply For Immigration to Manitoba

The immigration officials of Manitoba conducted a new Expression of Interest draw under their Provincial Nominee Program on May 31st 2018.   In it 504 candidates received the invitation to apply in its three streams. 262 candidates received the invitation to apply in the Human Capital Pathway which is a part of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. The candidate with the least-rank scored 584 points. Moreover, in order to qualify in the Human Capital Pathway, a candidate must:

  • Have a close relative in the province or receive past education or have work experience in it.
  • Additionally he/she must have 6 months of recent experience in an in-demand occupation in Manitoba.
  • He /she must also meet minimum requirements for language.
55 candidates received the invitation in the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which also is a part of the SWO. The least score was 698 points. In this Initiative a batch of candidates receive the invitation to apply for filling up a precise labour market need. 187 candidates received the invitations under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. This was the 45th draw for the province. The point to notice is that the province has moved away from the 2017 trend in MPNP activity since the commencement of 2018. Till December 2017, the SWM stream dominated draws in Manitoba. In 2018, many candidates based abroad received invitation under the SWO stream. In The previous draw held on April 13th, 2018 626 candidates received invitation to apply in four streams of Manitoba. 151 candidates received invitation to apply for the new Express Entry Pathway, which is a part of the Skilled Workers Overseas stream. Here the candidate with the lowest-rank scored 562 points. 99 candidates received invitation in the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which again is a part of the SWO, and the candidate with the lowest-rank scored 706 points. In the SRI is, a batch of candidates, are invited to apply to fill up a precise labour market need. 109 invitations went to candidates in SWO Human Capital Pathway with a minimum score of 602 points:
  • They had a close relative in Manitoba or past education or work experience in the province.
  • They had 6 months of recent experience in an in-demand occupation in Manitoba.
  • They also had minimum language requirements.
267 invitations, having the least score of 500 points, went to candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. MPNP: May 11, 2018 Draw

Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream This Stream is based on the precise needs of Manitoba employers. SWM selects workers trained overseas having the required skills. Subsequently they are nominated for permanent residence in Canada. This stream also gives a priority to candidates who have a strong affection to Manitoba, and has two pathways to Manitoba immigration. a) Manitoba Work Experience Pathway It is exclusive for applicants presently serving Manitoba on temporary work permits, using the Temporary Foreign Worker Program or also as international graduates from any province. Such Candidates do not need to work in In-Demand Occupations. b) Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway It attracts overseas applicants with job offers from approved Manitoba employers. Skilled Worker Overseas Stream This Stream includes both the Canada Express Entry Pathway as well as the direct provincial pathway. It aims to attract global skilled workers having training and skills in In-Demand Occupations of Manitoba. It gives Priority to such applicants and spouses, who have a close family connection, possess the language proficiency, as well as training and experience in finding an employment quickly. a) Manitoba Express Entry Pathway It caters to international candidates who are eligible in another stream of M.P.N.P., and also meet criteria of Express Entry and have an Express Entry profile that is active.
